![]() I've had two, one died after four or five years, during which it got dropped once or twice but kept going. Pros: It's an inexpensive way to get a scanner in your house for light duty scanning. If the specs meet your needs then you will be happy with the device. Not having to find another outlet for yet another device is nice. It does not have any auto feed so its one at a time which I knew (but you should to). I decided to get a standalone scanner after two "all-in-one" devices failed before their time. The canon hear is not a rabbit but it is tolerable in speed (I am impatient) and the controls can be figured out quickly (and re-figured out after not using it for a month). It is remarkable how badly written some scanner software is (HP comes to mind) and how slow the scanners are. My criteria for a scanner is 1)the controls are intuitive and quick to use and 2) It scans fast. ![]() I also scan in some photographs sometimes but I am not near a professional in photography and so my standards are modest.
